Ashley Darkwood - Paranormal Investigator

I was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. From the age of 5, my mother took me to Wycombe Spiritualist Church. By my teenage years, I was doing psychic readings for school friends and went on to develop mediumship. By my late teens, I was already being asked to investigate what was reported to be hauntings in people's homes. However, I noticed that many of these reports and phenomena were not paranormal and had more innocent origins. I grew up studying Martial Arts, and gained a keen interest in Eastern philosophy.
By the time television was inundated with ghost hunt TV shows, I had spent many years working in community psychiatric services, gaining skills and insights which would prove invaluable in assisting clients whose mental health would present as paranormal experiences.
As a paranormal investigator, I set myself apart from ghost hunters by thoroughly researching each case I encounter. I'm critical of many ghost hunt gadgets due to their fallible nature, which can give false readings within a genuine investigation. I go into a case "sober" not as a medium.
I have gained vast experience in dealing with negative energies and entities. I have developed a comprehensive course on these matters. But, I carefully vet whom it is delivered to.
I have appeared in print, on radio and TV as a paranormal researcher offering analysis and opinion., performing both psychic mediumship and paranormal investigation around the UK, New York & New Jersey USA.
I no longer perform mediumship in private sittings or in church or centre settings. Spiritualism has always been plagued with charlatans, but since the advent of social media I have seen a complete devolution in the movement. My ethics are not inline with the ever growing financial motivation and ego of psychics, mediums and their governing bodies. I do not believe that belief systems should come with a price list. This is a complete contrast to my teachings from childhood by mediums who were humble and ethical.
I'm currently developing a screenplay based on true paranormal accounts.
