Ashley Darkwood - Paranormal Investigator & Researcher- Haunted Historian
Born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, I was attended the Wycombe Spiritualist Church at the age of five by my mother. During my teenage years, I began conducting psychic readings for school friends and developed mediumship skills. At 16, I undertook my first investigation into a paranormal report. By my late teens, I was frequently requested to look at alleged hauntings in private homes, though I often found these phenomena to have non-paranormal origins. My upbringing in Martial Arts fostered a deep interest in Eastern philosophy.
I dedicated many years to working for the NHS and Social Services in community psychiatric care, acquiring skills and insights invaluable for supporting individuals who believe they are experiencing paranormal events.
As a paranormal investigator, I distinguish myself from ghost hunters by seeking the root cause of reported activities. I am sceptical of many ghost hunting gadgets due to their unreliability in serious investigations. My focus is not on proving paranormal phenomena but on understanding their causes and aiding clients in finding peace, comprehension, or resolution to their experiences. I approach cases with a critical eye, not as a medium, having observed the distress and anxiety caused by mediums providing false information during investigations.
I have gained recognition in print, radio, and television as a paranormal researcher, providing analysis and insights. My contributions have been featured on shows such as Uncanny, World's Most Unexplained, and Expedition X. My research has been extensively utilized by numerous productions. Moreover, I lead ghost and haunted tours across London and the southeast of England, focusing equally on historical authenticity and haunting narratives. Additionally, I have appeared on television & film as both an actor and a stunt performer.
